Gongda Kaiyuan Secures Invention Patent for Offshore Distributed Green Ammonia Scheduling, Empowering Intelligent Upgrading of Offshore New Energy Industry
Recently, the independently developed "Offshore Distributed Green Ammonia Production Scheduling System and Method Based on Intelligent Management" by Gongda Kaiyuan Environmental Technology (Nanjing) Co., Ltd. was officially granted an invention patent by the China National Intellectual Property Administration (Patent No.: ZL 2025 1 0650866.5).

The implementation of this patent marks a key technological breakthrough for the company in the field of intelligent control for offshore wind power coupled with green ammonia production, establishing yet another core "moat" in offshore new energy chemical processing and intelligent scheduling. It provides a brand-new technical solution for the on-site conversion of offshore new energy and the large-scale development of green ammonia fuel in China.
Currently, offshore wind power resources are abundant, but wind energy inherently suffers from intermittency and volatility challenges. Under the traditional model, transmitting offshore wind power to shore over long distances incurs high costs and significant transmission losses, constraining the efficient utilization of marine clean energy. The offshore distributed green ammonia route enables the on-site conversion of offshore wind power into zero-carbon green ammonia that is easy to store and transport, representing a key direction for marine energy development. However, multi-unit distributed production scenarios place extremely high demands on the coordinated scheduling of the entire chain encompassing wind power, electrolytic hydrogen production, and ammonia synthesis.
To address these industry pain points, the new energy team at Gongda Kaiyuan conducted dedicated research and development efforts, culminating in the patented invention technology now authorized. This technology is tailored to match small- to medium-sized offshore wind power–coupled green ammonia projects based on offshore wind and solar resources. It establishes an intelligent production scheduling system adapted to offshore operating conditions, capable of real-time matching of offshore wind power output fluctuations, dynamically optimizing load allocation among hydrogen production and ammonia synthesis units, and coordinating the integrated operation of energy storage units and production units. This effectively mitigates production instability caused by wind energy volatility, improves the energy utilization efficiency of offshore distributed green ammonia projects, reduces system operational energy consumption, and enhances the economic viability and operational stability of offshore green ammonia engineering projects.
The green ammonia produced can serve not only as zero-carbon fuel for shipping and as a green raw material for industry, but also as a low-cost carrier for hydrogen storage and transportation. It holds significant practical value for advancing the development of offshore wind power in near-shore and deep-sea areas and for building a marine zero-carbon energy system.
The successful grant of this national invention patent is a testament to the company's long-standing commitment and deep expertise in the new energy sector. Taking this as a new starting point, we will continue to drive the low-carbon industry upgrade with hard-core innovation and steadily contribute our technological strength to the achievement of the "dual carbon" goals.
