Focusing on Distributed Applications, Gongda Kaiyuan Environmental Proposes New Approach for Green Ammonia and Methanol Production – The 5th Liquid Sunshine Industry Development Forum Successfully Concludes in Dalian
Dalian, September 24-26, 2025 – The 2025 (5th) Liquid Sunshine Industry Development Forum, hosted by DT New Energy, was grandly held in the coastal city of Dalian. The forum brought together numerous experts and representatives from research institutes, leading enterprises, and industry organizations to discuss the latest advancements and industrialization pathways for Liquid Sunshine (green hydrogen and its derivatives) technologies. Gongda Kaiyuan Environmental Technology (Nanjing) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Gongda Kaiyuan Environmental") , as an enterprise representative actively engaged in industry innovation, shared its latest achievements in the field of distributed green ammonia and methanol equipment at the forum.
During the special report session, Mr. Dong Weijia, General Manager of the New Energy Business Division of Gongda Kaiyuan Environmental, delivered a keynote speech titled "Technical Application and Future Market Path of Skid-mounted Green Ammonia/Methanol Equipment in Distributed Scenarios," which attracted widespread attention from the attendees.
In his report, General Manager Dong Weijia pointed out that with the proliferation of renewable energy, a key challenge for implementing the "Liquid Sunshine" strategy is how to efficiently and economically utilize unevenly distributed wind and solar resources. Addressing this pain point, Gongda Kaiyuan Environmental innovatively proposed a solution for green ammonia and methanol production suitable for distributed scenarios.
The core of this solution lies in adopting a modular design concept and a skid-mounted design approach to successfully develop a small-scale, movable chemical production system. This skid-mounted equipment highly integrates the large and complex systems of traditional chemical plants into standardized functional modules, akin to "building blocks," which can be rapidly combined and deployed according to actual needs.
Dong Weijia detailed the design process and specific application examples of such skid-mounted green ammonia/methanol units in his report. He stated that this equipment can be directly deployed near wind farms, photovoltaic power stations, or in remote areas such as islands and border regions struggling with power absorption, enabling "production for immediate use." It converts unstable green electricity directly into storable and transportable green ammonia or methanol. This not only effectively addresses the issues of renewable energy absorption and intermittency but also provides a new technical path and business model for distributed energy application scenarios.
This presentation demonstrated Gongda Kaiyuan Environmental's technical strength and forward-thinking strategy in the field of new energy equipment. The skid-mounted, modular solution proposed by the company provides practical and feasible technical support for promoting the transition of green ammonia and methanol production from centralized to distributed applications, offering valuable insights for accelerating the scaling and commercialization of China's Liquid Sunshine industry.
